Relpol's RSP-PV8.0-1500-3P surge arrester is a high-quality component designed to protect DC photovoltaic installations up to 1500 V DC. The Class I+ II (Type 1+2) device effectively suppresses overvoltages resulting from lightning or switching disturbances, protecting inverters, PV modules and other equipment from damage.

The PV arrester RSP-PV8.0-1500-3P is equipped with a mechanical status indicator and an isolated potential-free contact. The status indicator allows a quick assessment of the performance of the protection module - a change of colour from green to red indicates that the cartridge is damaged and needs to be replaced, making servicing much easier. The potential-free contact allows the condition of the unit to be monitored remotely, so that the failure of the arrester can be reported automatically, without the need for physical inspection.

Purpose and mounting recommendations:

The RSP-PV8.0-1500-3P DC limiter should be installed in parallel with the protected DC lines, providing both common mode and different mode protection. For efficiency, installation on both sides of the line - at the PV panels and at the inverter input - is recommended, especially if the cable routing is long or the installation is outdoors.
