Surge arrester RSP-PV12.5-600-2P

The RSP-PV12.5-600-2P surge arrester is a type I+II two-pole surge arrester designed to protect direct current (DC) installations such as photovoltaic systems up to 600 V DC. It effectively protects equipment against surges caused by lightning strikes or sudden voltage spikes in the DC network. The arrester is suitable for various PV installations and, in particular, is the ideal protection for high protection of PV strings.

In order to ensure full protection, surge arresters of the RSP-PV series should be mounted in parallel on the DC network, allowing protection in both common and different modes. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the protective devices on both sides of the power line - both at the PV panels and at the inverter or converter. This is particularly important for long lines and those routed outdoors, where the risk of induced surges is much higher.

Key technical parameters:

  • Protection type: Type 1 + Type 2 (Class I+II)
  • Number of poles: 2P
  • Nominal voltage (Un): 600 V DC
  • Maximum permanent operating voltage (Uc): 670 V DC
  • Surge current Iimp (10/350 µs): 12.5 kA
  • Maximum discharge current Imax: 80 kA
  • Mounting type: 35 mm DIN rail
  • Compliance with standard: PN-EN 61643-31
  • Operating temperature: -40°C to +85°C
