Relpol’s range of modular devices has been expanded to include RCD (RCCB) residual current circuit breakers, designed to protect electrical installations and users against the effects of leakage currents.
A residual current circuit breaker monitors the current flowing through the protected circuit. If it detects an imbalance indicating that current is flowing outside the intended circuit path, for example as a result of insulation damage, it disconnects the power supply.
This type of protection is widely used in residential installations as well as in commercial and industrial facilities.
Relpol RCDs are designed for 50/60 Hz AC circuits. The following versions are available:
The rated current range covers values from 16 to 63 A, allowing the device to be selected for a variety of circuits and installations.
Different rated residual operating current values are also available: 0.03 A, 0.1 A and 0.3 A.
Depending on the type of installation, you can choose a Type AC or Type A residual current circuit breaker.
Type AC responds to sinusoidal alternating residual current. Type A can additionally detect pulsating DC residual current, which makes it suitable for circuits with devices containing electronic components.
Relpol RCDs are designed for mounting on a standard DIN TH35 rail. Their construction allows the use of both fork-type and pin-type busbars, connected from either the top or the bottom.
The devices are also equipped with a residual current trip indicator, which makes it easier to identify the cause of circuit disconnection. Conductors with cross-sections from 1 to 35 mm² can be connected to the terminals.
Relpol RCDs complement the company’s range of modular protective devices and can be used in residential, commercial and industrial installations. The products comply with the requirements of IEC/EN 61008-1.
